I’m a bit over the mouse plague…at least I have some creative mice living in my studio, the little monsters love playing in wet paint on my palette every night! 🙄

Recently I have been working on some new ideas for

Recently I have been working on some new ideas for an Arts North West project called ‘Looking Both Ways’. The project is a study of creative inspiration and the interplay of text and image and involved a series of creative roundtables lead by artist Angus Nivison and writer Sophie Masson at the New England Regional Art Museum (NERAM).

The project paired artists and writers from the New England North West region, and I was fortunate to collaborate with non-fiction writer and songwriter Helena Pastor from Armidale.

Inspired by stories of my great grandmother’s early life at Cuttabri (near Pilliga) in the early 1900s, I developed new work exploring the idea of echoes of the people of the past in the landscape. My great grandmother Linda was born in 1901, and my daughter Darcy who was my model, was born 100 years later. I loved this connection and the continuation of the family story through art.

It was an absolute joy to be involved in the project! Thank you to Arts North West for facilitating such a great initiative.
