// Artist statement 

‘Evanesce’ was created in late 2018 as part of a series of works investigating the Namoi River around the Gunnedah area.  The drought had started to have a major impact on the river system and the last environmental flow had recently been released from further upstream. Despite this release, the water seemed to be evaporating in the bright sunlight, dissipating like vapour and passing out of memory and existence.  I wondered if it would ever reach its destination and flow through to the beleaguered Darling River so desperately in need.
