In April, ABC Open producer Tim Leha and a group of budding filmmakers doing a school holiday workshop visited the studio to interview me for the ‘Makers and Creators’ project. We had a fun time and here is the result.
Contemporary Views of the Sweeping Plains
Maree Kelly is a Curlewis and Gunnedah based artist with a passion for making and creating. With her preferred medium, oils, and her inspiring surrounds, Maree is able to create fabulous contemporary landscape artworks that represent her views of our vast and open landscape.
She tells us about the land through her eyes and converts her thoughts on the weather, seasons and environment onto a canvas to be admired. We also learn her working process and like a tiny bud into a rose, Maree transforms a simple photo into a magnificent piece of art. Although modest and slightly shy, Maree is an inspiration for future artists.
